It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Hello everyone! I know it’s been awhile since either of us have talked to you but we’re still here, we promise!

The holiday season has been great! Becca’s family has a Christmas party every year usually 2-3 weeks before Christmas and that’s always a blast. This year was definitely tamer than usual (there’s usually beer pong and lots of games and drinking involved).

On Christmas Eve I was really happy because we got to spend the afternoon/night with my sister, brother in law, and niece. A lot of family time is usually spent with Becca’s family since 99% of mine is out of state. For the last 2 years, my sister and family have gone to Florida for Christmas. As you can imagine, I was looking forward to having time with them. We exchanged gifts, talked, played board games and of course ate wonderful food. My sister is one of the best home cooks I know.

Christmas Day was pretty standard and uneventful. We woke up, exchanged gifts, ate lasagna (Becca got me the ingredients for Veggie lasagna) and had a lazy Christmas Day.

Becca and I got matching pajamas from my mother.

Becca got a onesie and a shirt from her parents, and I’m getting her a PS4. She is excitedly waiting for the new Kingdom Hearts game to come out. Anyone else a fan? My sister gave her a trivia game and a gas card. The trivia game was a wonderful touch because on our road trip to my niece’s wedding in Nebraska, we did trivia for part of the 9 hour trip.

I received a robe, slippers and shirt from my in-laws and Becca gave me a Sodastream (apparently there are more gifts coming).

This was our first year as a married couple and I’m just happy I have Becca by my side. The gifts are fun but not what’s important. Getting to call her my wife is the best gift I could have received this year. It’s been 4 years of Christmas’s together but now, as wives, there’s something extra special about it. I’m building my own little family.

Tell us how your holidays were!
